Bulls to take Derrick Rose?
This blogger suggests thinking again. I for one believe the Chicago Bulls should take a very serious look at Michael Beasley who will list a 6-10 (in shoes) and 240 pounds. Beasley is pro ready power forward that Paxson could plug directly into the starting lineup. The front court for the Bulls is the serious issue with the roster. If the Bulls think Rose is the better talent, then by all means they should draft him. However, I don’t think they should draft him just because of the Chris Paul/ Deron Williams point guard revolution.
I for one believed the Blazers should have taken Kevin Durant, because I believed he was the best overall talent on the board. I also questioned Greg Oden’s medical status as a huge question mark for the team that drafted him. I hate to see players get hurt, and I take absolutely no credit for predicting something tragic like that. If the Bulls pass up Beasley they may live to regret it. This freshman averaged over 26 ppg, 12 rebs, 1.6 blks, and 1.3 stls per game. Not to mention he averaged 53% from the field and 38% from the three point line as an NCAA rookie. Bill Walker was a good side kick, but K-State had a terrible backcourt which prevented them from advancing in the tournament.
The team Beasley played on should not be held against him. Imagine some of the other options Paxson could examine. With Beasley at PF the Bulls would still need a dominant center.
