Tim Hardaway

One of my favorite former players in the nba and one of it’s most entertaining players Tim Hardaway is apparently trying to get back into the NBA.  Hardaway who was best known for his killer crossover dubbed the ‘UTEP Two-Step’ to some changed the game by his signature move which is still used by a few big name players even today (Dwayne Wade, Allen Iverson & Brandon Roy to name a few).

Tim Hardaway is at the Pre-Draft camp in Orlando and he’s still trying to get a NBA coaching job. “I’ve talked to Pat (Riley),” Hardaway said. “Had great conversations with him. Don’t know why I’m not there. I’ve been trying for three or four years now. Don’t know why I’m not there. It’s kind of frustrating to me because I know I can help them out with that type of stuff — scouting, helping out with the guys, making sure they understand what they need to do. “It’s kind of frustrating to have my expertise around and willing to help and they’re not calling.”

Obviously, Hardaway would love to be with the Heat but said “for some reason, I don’t know why, I’m not able to be with them.” “I don’t know what’s going on there,” he said. Palm Beach Post / May 29

Tim Hardaways NBA Achievements:

  • Hardaway recorded 5,000 points and 2,500 assists faster than any player in NBA history except Oscar Robertson. Hardaway accomplished it in 262 games; Robertson took only 247.
  • Hardaway holds the record for most assists in Miami Heat franchise history: 1,947.
  • Hardaway shares the record for second most steals in an NBA Playoffs game, with 8 in Game 2 of the 1991 Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers and in Game 4 of the 1992 Western Conference First Round against the Seattle SuperSonics.
  • In 1991-92, Hardaway became the 7th player in NBA history to average 20 points (23.4 ppg) and 10 assists (10.0 apg) in a season, a feat he accomplished again in 1992-93 (21.5 ppg, 10.6 apg).
  • Hardaway holds the NBA record for the worst single-game shooting performance in NBA history, having gone 0 for 17 in a 106-102 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 27, 1991.

I know that i’m personally rooting for him to make it back in the nba..
