In the previous post I touched on what a primary sponsor is, and how they could be apart of OMT. In Europe these primary sponsors are the norm. I remember a team in Germany that is sponsored by T-Mobile (or some phone company like them). Their jerseys are pink and even the court is bright pink. I’m not sure we want our team running around in bright pink, so I decided to start a list of potiental Primary Sponsor candidates. The list is wide ranging from sports drinks to bubble gum.  I think OMT can find a company that gels nicely with our image. I’m not aware of any other US basketball team with a primary sponsor, but that should not deter OMT. OMT will be setting a lot of precedents this year. Below is the beginning of my Primary Sponsor candidate list. Once you join please give your feedback and suggestions in the forums.

Hopefully some of these brands will open the eyes of our members. I know they aren’t as obvious as Coke, Pepsi, and Nike, but these companies make a really quality product. I listed one semi-controversial product in Energy69. What I can say about it is that I’ve tried it, and it is a quality product. Did you know Puma made basketball shoes? They do, and they are very comfortable.

There are more controversial brands like Nelly’s Pimp Juice Energy Drink. I didn’t list a picture of it, because I’m not sure if this would be considered offensive to some. C-Stores carry the product, so my guess is that the product has been deemed not to be offensive. Rip It Energy is still sold at Wal-Mart I believe. XS is an energy drink only sold via one online website.
