Tartu Rock’s Brian Cusworth (former Harvard standout) was named the MVP of a surprising 4-0 sweep of BC Kalev lead by Ed Scott (former Clemson standout). Tartu Rock won game four 64-59 on May 25th. Scott had 16 points and 6 rebounds in 33 minutes of action. Cusworth had 19 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes, but Cusworth also had an excellent supporting cast. Tanel Tein (Tartu Rock) played robin to Cusworth’s batman and finished the game with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in 33 minutes of play.

Tein is a 6-5 guard/forward originally from Estonia (born in 1978), but Tein has played outside the country in Russia as well. Tein would make a quality IBL prospect. In more recent news BC Kalev’s (Tallinn, Estonia) front office let it be known that they were upset that the team was swept in the Estonian Finals, and that they were also upset with the dismal 6-11 record in the Baltic Basketball League (BBL). Because of this BC Kalev fired head coach Veselin Matic and replaced him with New Zealand National Team head coach Nenad Vucinic.
